Well October is finished and the Effects of Halloween, Christmas and the New Year over and forgotten.
For Gaythorne Bowls another GOLD Program Program is commencing with a twist.  This time on Wednesday mornings in February and Tuesday Evenings in March 2020 you can Learn to Bowl.

Gaythorne Bowls Club started its association with the Brisbane City Council in 2016 offering Learn to Bowl sessions in March and October each year.

With such a positive outcome in our previous GOLD sessions Gaythorne Bowls Club has for the 1st half of this year 2020, is now going to offer 2 Learn to Bowl sessions with the BCC’s GOLD Program.

They are:–

Every Wednesday morning in February and every Tuesday evening in March.

Wednesday Mornings in February 2020 are 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 9.00 am until about 11.00 am

Tuesday Evenings in March under lights are 3th, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st from 6.00 pm until about 9.00pm

  • Enjoy a relaxed and friendly time on the green. Learn how to roll the bowls, take grass and get the winning bowls beside the jack
  • To book phone the bowls club on 3355 2048 or 3855 2725

The Brisbane City Council GOLD Program for those that like acronyms stands for:

                            Growing Old Living Dangerously

All men and women are welcome on this GOLD program but our club would especially like to invite women to come and give bowls a go.

The GOLD Program is aimed at people aged 50 and over, but people outside this age group are also invited to come and have a go with the GOLD Program participants, as our club would like to share the game and encourage everyone to come and roll on the greens.

Although the GOLD Program is for people aged 50 and over, Gaythorne Bowls Club invites people of any age to come and enjoy the evening activities alongside the GOLD Program participants.

Ages for participants this round varied between teenage and mid-eighties.
